Pekay's Mint To Follow Me To Sonshine
"Shadow"
Here is our latest sire, Shadow. Shadow came to us from the well-respected Pekay Kennel. Kitty has been raising and showing Goldens for many years. I am humbly honored that she would entrust this handsome boy to me. Shadow has a wonderful, self-stacking structure with a beautiful wide head along with the nice thick bones that I look for in a Golden. He is a more laid-back boy that is a huge cuddle bug, desiring to be a lap dog when he isn't out on his walks or boating with his foster mom. Being sweet and confident in nature, he loves everyone he meets and is so very gentle with my grandchildren. They can both be petting on and fussing with him even when he is just given a fresh new bone to chew on. He loves the attention! LOL Shadow has produced gorgeous puppies that have that wonderful disposition Goldens are known and loved for.
Genetically, besides the health clearances that he has passed (OFA hips-rated good, elbows, eyes, and heart tests), Shadow is also clear, by parentage, of many "extra" potential health issues a Golden could have: PRA1, PRA2, prcd-PRA, Ichthyosis, and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL), as well as several other diseases that are able to be identified by DNA tests. These are all DNA tests. Therefore, because Shadow's DNA is "clear" of these issues, YOUR PUPPY WILL NEVER GET THEM. I'd be happy to explain the science behind breeding a dog with clear DNA to you should you be interested in one of his puppies. I can also show you the tests results his breeder gave me upon purchasing him.
Here he is with his foster mom enjoying life on the water and showing the affection he has for her.

SHADOW'S PEDIGREE:
Because K9 data has been having issues with their website for several months now, I have decided to just show a picture of Shadow's pedigree here like this vs. a link. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. The pedigree is there, but for some reason one has to go to it through a back door. Instead of explaining the process, this is much easier!
